HISTORY

• BICO began in 1890 as the West Indies and British Ice Company at the corner of Victoria & Middle Street • IN 1949 the company decided to expand into ice-cream production, and a modern ice cream plant was installed in 1950
• IN 1964 The Right Excellent Sir Walton Barrow, Premier of Barbados (later Prime Minister) invited BICO to set up a cold storage facility at the newly completed (1961) Deep Water Harbour • In 1966 the company began supplying cold storage to the Bridgetown Port
